Cheer
Ever wonder what cheerleading is really like? Well, imagine your high school days crossed with the routines from Bring It On and you have an annual University of Minnesota tradition as students compete to be named the best Cheer team of Homecoming 2006. With unique songs, crazy stunts and bizarre vocals, this is a performance not to be missed! The Cheer competition prelims will start at 4:30pm on Thursday, November 2nd with finals taking place at 7:30pm at the Superblock. All groups competing in the Cheer competition must attend the Mandatory Cheer Clinic October 4th, from 7pm-8:30pm at the Sports Pavilion.
Lip Sync
Milli Vanilli isn't the only group that can lip sync! Join in on an annual tradition at the University of Minnesota and compete to see who can best Lip Sync and perform to songs of the Wild Wild Midwest. The Lip Sync competition will take place during the Homecoming 2006 Kick-Off event on Monday, October 30th at 7pm in the Ted Mann Concert Hall.
Banner
Create a 10' x 4' banner that is judged on the concepts of artistry, detail, creativity, color, appeal, presentation and the use of the overall theme, Wild Wild Midwest, along with your group theme. The banners are a great way to show the spirit of the maroon and gold at the various events throughout the week. Banners need to be delivered to Ted Mann by 5:30pm on October 30th.
