Spring Jam 2006 Premieres April 26th-29th

About Spring Jam

Spring Jam is the student-planned, campus-wide week of festivities during spring semester. Celebrating the warm weather and the end of the school year, Spring Jam is the largest student-run event at the University of Minnesota. The student committee plans many different events throughout the week including live music performances, Ballyhoo, sport competitions, novelty entertainment, comedians, an art fair, and a variety of other events. Numerous student organizations such as the residence halls and the Greek community form teams and compete during Ballyhoo, sport competitions, and the student band competition.

This year's theme, "Movies That Rock", brings together the two favorites of movies and music. The theme is based on movies that are centered around a certain musical genre and/or based around a popular theme song. Examples of this combination could include:

  • Footloose
  • 8 Mile
  • Walk the Line
  • Purple Rain
  • The Doors
  • Selena
