The Spring Jam committee is made up of all students and the co-coordinators oversee the entire committee. The student committee plans events such as Band performances, Ballyhoo competition, sports competitions, as well as the Block Party concert culminating at the end of the Spring Jam week. It is the job of the co-coordinators to oversee the Spring Jam student committee, enabling them to accomplish all of their goals and present a fun event for the entire campus and community. My position on the Spring Jam Executive Committee is Band/Ballyhoo/Kickoff. I get to plan, order, and organize everything for these events! Being that these are three huge events and there is only ONE of me I need you!!! I am looking for motivated, organized, and creative people to help me brainstorm ideas and put them into action for a great Kickoff event. I also need people to help organize the Band and Ballyhoo competitions, so if you are good with music, dance, and creativity please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you and having you join the Spring Jam team! If this sounds appealing to you, I would love to have you as one of my volunteers. You can contact me at: vand0514@umn.edu.
As the Awards, Scoring and Judging Chair, also known as the ASJ Chair, I am responsible for coordinating the judging of all scored events in Spring Jam. I also update and maintain the registration and rules handbooks for organizations participating in Spring Jam. A member of the ASJ Committee would have responsibilities including correspondence with event judges, compilation of event points, and recording and allocating spirit points to participating organizations. If any of these things mentioned sound appealing to you, please e-mail me at hutc0108@umn.edu.
"Special Operations" involves helping other committee members with their activities, decisions, and responsibilities involved in the design of the Spring Jam production. More specifically, "Special Operations" is concerned with out-of-the-box strategies and improving the ideas of previous Spring Jam events. If "Special Operations" is the committee for you, please e-mail me at: brow1074@umn.edu.
Making sure the Residence Halls are informed, organized, and ready to participate in all Spring Jam activities. My position in the Executive Committee of Spring Jam is to plan a campus wide event at the end of Spring Jam, which is the Block Party. I am in charge of finding a band for the main event, working with vendors to provide food and beverages, working with the security and police and other emergency services to insure the safety of the event, and make sure that the Block Party operates smoothly. I am looking for volunteers to assist with the various areas of this great event such as: marketing, stage and sound set-up, vendor and security detail, etc. If you would like to help with the planning process of this year's Block Party, please contact me via e-mail at: helm0162@umn.edu.
I oversee the coordination of the sport competitions during the week of Spring Jam, as well as a few spirit events. I am responsible for the brackets and field assignments as well as helping my fellow executive board members stay informed on all aspects of sports competitions. If you love sports, and everything that revolves around sports and this great spring event, then I am your man. You can contact me for volunteer opportunities via e-mail at: zimm0275@umn.edu.
As Philanthropy Chair I will be coordinating events with local organizations on campus to help give back to the community. My goal is to make Philanthropy a huge part of this year's Spring Jam by incorporating it into many of the other Spring Jam events. If you are interested in helping out with this year's Philanthropy events I could always use some help planning and executing my events, contacting volunteers, marketing, finding organizations to team up with, running meetings to prepare volunteers for the event, and especially helping at the events. Any other creative ways you can think of to help me out are also welcome. If this seems to be something of interest to you, please contact me at: mart1253@umn.edu.
The Campus and Community position entails working to get a diverse mixture of students and student groups involved in this wonderful spring event. I will be holding informational sessions to educate students and organizations about Spring Jam. If you are interested in working with a wide-range of students and promoting Spring Jam to the community contact me at: salz0043@umn.edu.
As the Spring Jam Greek Chair, I am the informative contact for all Greek chapters participating in Spring Jam. In addition, I am the go-to person for the Greek pairing overalls throughout the registration and participation process. Spring Jam is always a fun and exciting time for the Greeks, and I work closely with representatives from each chapter to ensure a successful Spring Jam experience. Please contact me at: morg0235@umn.edu.
As the advisor, I serve as a Historian, a Resource, an Encourager, an Advocate (or Devil's Advocate, depending on the day), a Liaison, a Mentor, a Psychic but most importantly a Friend.
As the Residential Life advisor, it is my responsibility (and privilege) to work directly with the Res Life chair to support their amazing efforts! I help make connections with interested students in our residence halls and apartments, as well as keeping the rest of the Residence Life staff up to date about the fabulous things that are going on with Spring Jam.
