Spring Jam 2006 Premieres April 26th-29th

Sports and Spirit Events

Spring Jam Competitions are broken down into two areas: the overall competition and individual competitions.

Overall Competition

The first area is the required events for those organizations who wish to participate in the "Overall" competition of Spring Jam. These events have a $100.00 entry fee and require registration within the overall Spring Jam competition for student and greek organizations, residence halls or campus and community groups. These events include:

Sports: Indoor Soccer and Ultimate Frisbee

Soccer teams will be comprised of seven individuals competing to gain Spring Jam points. With the World Cup just around the corner, it is hard to resist the chance to shine. Preliminary games will be played in the University Field House, April 22nd at 3pm and finals will occur April 23rd at 3pm.

Check the brackets for specific times.

Ultimate Frisbee is back outdoors for Spring Jam 2006; bundle up or take off some layers because in Minnesota the weather is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get! Preliminary games will be played on the Bierman Athletic Field, April 22nd at 10am and finals will occur April 23rd at 10am.

Check the brackets for specific times.

Teams must compete in both competitions in order to participate in this event.

Flag

Create a flag that truly shows off your school spirit. Have your flag go along with your theme. Make sure that your flag is appealing, neat, and detailed. With a little bit of artistry, mixed with some creativeness, and packed with spirit, you and your organization are sure to take home those points! Event occurs Monday, April 24th at 4pm in CMU The Whole.

Band

Whether you are in a band already, or want to form one for Spring Jam, you and your band will perform live on stage for a chance to win some Spring Jam points. The band can consist of up to twelve individual members. The set that is performed needs to relate to the theme, Movies that Rock! Preliminary competition will be April 24th at 6pm in CMU The Whole. The final event occurs April 28th at 6pm at CMU Riverbend Plaza. Only those who advance from the preliminary round will be eligible to compete in the final competition.

Ballyhoo

Show off your dancing skills in the ballyhoo competition! In this competition, groups send their ballyhoo team up on stage to perform a choreographed dance to their own music mix. With this year's theme, Movies that Rock, we're sure there are plenty of movie characters and musical themes to rock your world! Ballyhoo is a fun event for all involved whether you are participating or just watching. Event is held at CMU Riverbend Plaza with prelims April 27th at 5pm and the finals on April 29th at 1pm. Only those who advance from the preliminary round will be eligible to compete in the final competition.
