Campus-Wide Activities

The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities offers two unique campus-wide celebrations each academic year. As part of the Minnesota Programs & Activities Council, Homecoming and Spring Jam are both annual celebrations that offer a huge spectrum of fun events.

Homecoming is the annual fall tradition where the campus community, alumni and friends gather to celebrate school spirit. A tradition at the University of Minnesota since 1914, Homecoming features annual traditions such as student sport and philanthropy competitions, lip sync performances, bonfire, pep fest and parade and more.

Spring Jam is the student-planned campus-wide week of festivities during spring semester. Celebrating the warm weather and the end of the school year, Spring Jam committee is made up students who plan events such as band performances, Ballyhoo competition, sports competition, an art festival, as well as the Block Party concert culminating at the end of the Spring Jam week. Spring Jam week brings together various student groups such as the Residence Life and Greek communities and also includes competitions wherein the students compete in sports, Flag, Ballyhoo, and the student band Competition.
