Blood Drive

9am - 5pm, Wednesday, April 22 @ Coffman Union Great Hall

Memorial Blood Center is a non-profit organization that has been providing blood and biomedical products to help the community for the past five decades. It serves hospitals around the Twin Cities metro area, northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. The amount of blood that they have collected so far has helped over six million people through medical emergencies. Memorial Blood Center is a member of America’s Blood Centers, the nation’s largest blood provider.

Please help your community by donating! It's quick and easy!

BLOOD DONATION CRITERIA

  • Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds.
  • Individuals cannot have a cold, sore throat, or flu.
  • Individuals cannot have donated in the past 56 days.
  • Individuals must not have gotten a tattoo in the past year if done in Minnesota or North Dakota (year period doesn't apply to tattoos done in Iowa or South Dakota)
  • Individuals are not eligible to donate if they are currently experiencing an iron deficiency or are anemic
  • Individuals with any blood relatives with Creutzfeldt (Jacobs Disease CJD) are not eligible to donate.
  • Individuals who have traveled out of the United States are recommended to call 1-800-426-2164 to confirm eligibility.
  • Must have a valid form of ID on day of donation (Drivers License, U-card, Passport, etc)

The criteria above is provided to ensure the maximum number of people who register will be eligible to donate.

Park Clean-Up

Wednesday, April 22nd, 3pm-6pm

Are you tired of seeing garbage piled up on the streets and fields? Are you sick of our environment being polluted? Now is your time to help make a change. Spring Jam and its partners, Beautiful U Day and Greeks Going Green, bring you the opportunity to participate in a park clean-up! Help recycle and pick up litter at College Park and Van Cleve Park. There will also be locations to recycle old batteries, ink cartridges throughout the week. Beautiful U Day will be providing ZipCars and interactive games at events.

No registration needed.

College Park is located in St. Paul on the corner of N Raymond Ave. and Carter Ave. Address: 1356 Raymond Ave., St. Paul, MN 55108.

Van Cleve Park is located east of Dinkytown in the Como Neighborhood on the corner of 15th Ave. and Como. Address: 901 15th Ave. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414.

Food Donations

If you have any spare non-perishable food lying around, donate it to Sharing and Caring Hands! Simply bring your food items to the collection bins at the Environmental Fair event on Wednesday, April 22nd from 11am – 2pm or the Block Party on Saturday, April 25th from 3pm – 10pm.

Sharing and Caring Hands is a charitable organization that strives to make a difference in the lives of those in need through volunteering and donations. The organization serves over 240,000 meals a year to those in need.
