YMCA 5K Run / Walk
Saturday, April 26th
Coffman Memorial Union, Registration at 8am
Gather your friends together and run or walk the YMCA 5K on the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus! The race will take place on Saturday, April 26th and registration is at 8am. The registration fee is $15. The run starts and ends at Coffman Memorial Union and benefits the University YMCA and its programs. Find out about registration, route and YMCA information.
Food Drive

Gopher Express Locations & Special Events
Do you have any spare food items or general house supplies lying around your house? The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge could use them! Throughout the week of Spring Jam you can bring your donations to several different collection bins around campus.
Gopher Express in Coffman Memorial Union and Gopher Express West in the West Bank Skyway will have collection bins each day of Spring Jam for you to drop your donation in as well as Hope Lodge Care Packs that you can purchase and donate. On Tuesday, April 22nd at 8pm there will be a Hope Lodge collection bin at the "Pirates of the Caribbean" outdoor film at the Coffman Memorial Union Riverbend Plaza. On Friday, April 25th from 10pm - 2am there will be a Hope Lodge collection bin during free bowling at Goldy's Gameroom.
A wide variety of donations is accepted and may be anything from board games to canned goods. Please see this list for donation suggestions.
Hope Care Packages
The Gopher Express
The Gopher Express designed the Hope package specifically for the people staying at The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. Throughout the week of Spring Jam you can purchase this care package and the Gopher Express will deliver it to the Hope Lodge.
Blood Drive

Coffman Memorial Union, Great Hall, 9am - 4pm
Memorial Blood Centers is hosting a blood drive on Monday, April 21st from 9am - 4pm at Coffman Memorial Union Great Hall. Memorial Blood Centers is a nationally known, locally operated, nonprofit community blood center that serves more than 30 hospitals in the Twin Cities metro area, northern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. Their mission is to provide blood products and biomedical services to benefit our community. You can help your community by donating!
Students may show up to the drive un-registered, but prior registration is encouraged! Sign up and enter "3376" in the sponsor code box to register for the Spring Jam Blood Drive. You will be prompted from that point forward. Note: you must click on "Confirm Appointment" before your appointment is scheduled.
Blood Donation Criteria*
- Individuals must weigh at least 110 pounds.
- Individuals cannot have a cold, sore throat, or flu.
- Individuals cannot have donated in the past 56 days.
- Individuals must not have gotten a tattoo in the past year.
- Individuals are not eligible to donate if they are currently experiencing an iron deficiency or are anemic.
- Individuals with any blood relatives with Creutzfeldt (Jacobs Disease CJD) are not eligible to donate.
- Must have a valid form of ID on day of donation (Drivers License, U-card, Passport, etc)
