We are the DFL at the University of Minnesota. Our purpose is to promote the issues and candidates of the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party, and to work for progressive social change on-campus and at all levels of government.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

UDFL hosts a number of educational, social, and politically oriented events. Our events and activities take place throughout the year, so even if you can not attend our meetings, you can always join us at one of our events.

Campaigning: Supporting Democratic candidates by doorknocking, literature drops, hanging signs, chalking, GOTV, phone banking, talking to fellow students about the issues.

Educational Events: DFL candidate debates, bringing Democratic speakers to the University, etc.

Social Events: After all our hard work, we have fun through events such as barbeques and trips to see the Twins or Gophers preceded by tailgating.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

UDFL gives students access to the elected officials that represent them at the campus, in City Hall, the State Capitol, and in Washington. In the past we've brought in a number of officials such as Al Gore, Amy Klobuchar, Howard Dean, Keith Ellison, Mark Ritchie, and RT Rybak to engage with our group and the University community. U-DFL works on many issues that matter for students, their families, their state and country.

How this group fits into its categories:

The University of Minnesota Democratic Farmer Labor organization is working to rebuild a grassroots movement of Democratic politics on this campus. We are chartered through both the Minnesota Young DFL and College Democrats of America.

How to get involved with this group:
