The GLBTA Network is a student organization that is formed and operates with the intent to promote tolerance and acceptance of diversity and sexual orientation, and to help in the promotion of the break down of gender stereotypes. The Network seeks to create a Housing environment where all can feel welcomed and accepted for their unique talents and contributions, and enjoy the full benefits of the U's educational system free from fear of harrasment or persecution. The above objectives will be accomplished through educatating the campus body in matters of and pertaining to sexuality and creating a community for all.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

The GLBTA Network is a student organization that is formed and operates with the intent to promote tolerance and acceptance of diversity and sexual orientation, and to help in the promotion of the break down of gender stereotypes. The Network sponsors programs surrounding National Coming Out day, Campus Pride, movie nights, dances and BBQs. The Network also facilitates educational programs in each Residence Hall to raise awareness and understanding of GLBT issues.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

Our network is inclusive and it represents our GLBTA populations who live on campus in the housing system.

How this group fits into its categories:

We represent GLBT populations on campus so they can have a safe group to meet each other and feeling fit in. We will also be doing events/programs to promote awareness of GLBT issues.

How to get involved with this group:

We are meeting every other Sunday in Frontier hall main lounge. Interested students can also contact the advisor at jdu@umn.edu
