Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

Our group's principle activities include formal and informal business meetings, musicales, fundraising events, volunteering in the community, attending musical events, all in the interest of music promotion, support, and appreciation.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

Our activities benefit the University community through our support of women in the arts, and more specifically, women in music. Our appreciation of music motivates us to use our resources to further our knowledge, as well as spend our time and efforts promoting music appreciation as a cornerstone of a compassionate and progressive campus.

How this group fits into its categories:

Sigma Alpha Iota has been considered a professional women's music fraternity since 1903, when it was founded. Our formalities and traditions are upheld by each member in an effort to maintain and further the reputation and goals of our chapter, and the fraternity at large.

How to get involved with this group:

We are a professional music fraternity, always looking to extend bids to interested women who have a sincere passion for music, and meet the fraternity requirements for membership. We hold bi-annual 'rushing' periods, where all interested women are welcome to attend, ask questions, and get to know the chapter and what we do!
