Developing values-based healthcare leaders by bridging the gap from ambition to action.
Group's principal activities, events, or programs:
Our group builds culturally-minded pre-med students with the ability to tackle future health care problems. Members of MML travel the world helping with healthcare issues by working in hospitals, meeting government officials and inspiring change in individuals. The group also volunteers locally, with organizations such as the Phillips Eye Institute, U of M Emergency Medical Services and Hennepin County Medical Center. Members get also get involved with planning health discussions and fundraisers.
How this group's activities benefit the University community:
Bringing pre-med students to worldly opportunities, and sharing information learned with the Twin Cities' community.
How this group fits into its categories:
A major part of our organization is action! Our members travel the world helping to solve healthcare issues by volunteering in hospitals and free clinics. We also hold fundraisers for medical supplies and medical research, plan large events and health discussions, and volunteer locally with various health campaigns and organizations.
