The University Honors Student Association is dedicated to creating a unique undergraduate experience for high-achieving students at the University of Minnesota. In conjunction with the challenging and innovate academic offerings supported by the University Honors Program, the University Honors Student Association seeks to provide and promote a wide variety of programs and events that promote the growth and development of Honors students. The University Honors Student Association seeks to nurture well-rounded individuals and prepare its members for a future of success, understanding, and achievement.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

Improve overall awareness of the events and programs supported by the University Honors Program and University Honors Student Association, as well as the requirements to participate as a member. Promote the professional development of Honors students through the offering of activities that develop and improve relationships between corporations/non-profits and Honors students. Create opportunities that allow Honors students to interact with and positively impact the local community. Facilitate positive social interactions between Honors students, faculty, administration, and other groups/organizations at the University of Minnesota. Organize and/or promote events that enhance academic themes outside of the classroom.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

UHSA shall exist to promote the interests and development of high ability students at the University of Minnesota. This purpose is premised on the belief that in addition to achieving excellent academic records within their field of study, Honors students should be actively engaged with both other academic departments at the University and with the community outside of the classroom. UHSA will strive to offer Honors students activities and programs that focus on Professional Development, Community Service, Social Development, and Academic Enrichment. UHSA will also serve as a liaison between Honors students and the University Honors Program faculty and staff.

How this group fits into its categories:

Students are given many opportunities for outside of the classroom learning, and are encouraged to take on challenging and interesting experiences of their choosing.

How to get involved with this group:

University of Minnesota undergraduate students who are admitted into the University Honors Program and accept shall be automatically admitted to the University Honors Student Association.
