FUSE is a student group dedicated to creating a community of English majors, minors, or interested persons. We are interested in creating a space for creative writing and critique as well as discussion of literary works. Besides these meetings we will also brainstorm events to attend as a group in the community at large.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

Our primary activity is discussion. We meet weekly in Coffman and talk about our classes, professors, books, and futures with degrees in English. We'll often share knowledge of University and Twin Cities literary events. We sponsor occasional special programs such as movie nights and coffee hours.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

We provide a place for those interested in English to explore their interest outside of the classroom and to actively engage in social conversation about interests relating to the field of English. We can take both positive and negative criticism of the English department and let them know how students are feeling.

How this group fits into its categories:

We serve the English Department by offering a peer run community. Not only do we have regular literary discussions, but we often brainstorm ways to help the department and create supplementary activities for English majors.
