Group Description

Categories: Academic and Educational

The University of Minnesota Aircraft Construction Group chooses and builds a full scale and functional kit airplane.
The group is intended for but not limited to engineering students.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

Primary activities include aircraft construction, workshops teaching aircraft building techniques and attendance of the Experimental Aircraft Association functions such as AirVenture.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

We give students who are going into the engineering field exposure to how aircraft are constructed. In the process the students may benefit by advancing their mechanical abilities.

How this group fits into its categories:

Our group is intended to educate engineering students on how and why aircraft are constructed the way that they are. This allows the student to go into their career field more informed on the assembly process.
