PRISM founded in 1998, is a multicultural student organization rooted in
the SJMC open to students from all Majors. PRISM strives to challenge the
viewpoints of today's media on multicultural issues. The group helps
students of color and their allies connect with like-minded professionals
in the mass media marketplace.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

Career networking, skill building, guest speakers and awareness building.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

We help students understand the need for diversity in communication fields. And we promote the increase of students of color in the SJMC and related departments.

How this group fits into its categories:

We promote multiculturalism in media.

How to get involved with this group:

Meetings are currently on Fridays at 2:30. Students can also join our email list and be made aware of special events, which are also widely publicized in campus media.
