Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

Premed AMSA is an active volunteer focused on medical help towards underprivileged patients: homeless, orphans, children in the developing countries. We provide our members with places where their volunteer or paid work is needed if students choose to serve on their own in addition to our team work. Premed AMSA helps to get ready for medical school by placement to MCAT preparation courses. We introduce speakers including practicing physicians and students and faculty from the medical school to learn about lifelong commitment to and challenges of medicine.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

Premed AMSA unites all University students that want to pursue a career in medicine. Premed AMSA organizes activities that introduce all aspects of a physician’s life: providing healthcare to all people, deepening and expanding his or her academic knowledge, striving towards professional and personal excellence, and overall causing positive social change in the local and wider community.

How this group fits into its categories:

Premed AMSA helps its members to prepare for MCAT by placement to the preparation courses.
Our focus is medical help to the most vulnerable citizens: homeless children and adolescents, low-income population, orphans in Minnesota and in the developing countries.
