To provide a voice for the needs of sociology majors and minors on campus. To organize programs of interest to sociology students and to have a place for interaction among undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

We are a student group for Sociology majors and minors. We meet monthly and organize community service events, guest lectures and broaden the awareness of the soc department initiatives.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

We provide a place for soc majors and minors to interact with fellow undergraduates, graduate students and faculty both in and outside the department.

How this group fits into its categories:

We conducted several trips to make food packets for an organization that ships food all around the world; we held a community wide event in front of our building where we distributed free lunches; and we held several meetings with our faculty and undergraduates to facilitate grad school exploration.

How to get involved with this group:

We post our meeting times in our e-newsletter and on our web site and these meetings are open to all our majors and minors. There is no application or fee to join.
