Group Description

Categories: Academic and Educational, Fraternity (professional), Sorority (professional)

Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed professional business fraternity. We work to develop our members both socially and professionally through close personal and business relationships.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

Alpha Kappa Psi is a co-ed professional business fraternity that focuses its activities in three major areas. Throughout the year we work to develop ourselves through professional events, social interaction, and community service. The professional events include speakers from the business community and workshops. Our community service involvement is linked with several organizations in and around campus, including the Ronald McDonald house and Feed My Starving Children. All of this goes to developing strong social bonds that nobody in the organization will ever forget.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

The various professional and service events carried out throughout the year help to build the reputation of the University in both the surrounding philanthropic groups and the local corporate community. Through training and practice we also strive to improve our members and encourage them to enact positive changes in their environment.

How this group fits into its categories:

As a co-ed professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi fits both the role of fraternity and sorority. We welcome everyone interested in business to discover what AKPsi has to offer. We focus more heavily on professional development than a social fraternity or sorority would and have a vested interest in the success of our members. These successes range from getting a job at a great firm to being the top of the academic class. In Alpha Kappa Psi we do all that we can to educate our members to do well both in the classroom and the boardroom.

How to get involved with this group:

Alpha Kappa Psi holds two rush weeks a year, one at the beginning of each semester. If you are interested please contact any of our exec board for more information.
