Alpha Epsilon Delta is the National Health Pre-Professional Honor Society dedicated to assisting students engaged in the pursuit of a professional healthcare career. The University of Minnesota chapter exposes students to current issues in medicine, provides a forum for students with common interests, and extends a program of service to benefit the local community. Through informative speakers, volunteer opportunities, and social events, AED hopes to prepare students for the medical school application process and to depict the life of a physician.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

AED at the University of Minnesota is dedicated to being the best resource on campus for students thinking about medical school. We often have guest speakers such as: medical school admissions directors, physicians, MCAT preparation course representatives, and medical students. We also take part in many volunteer events. Some past events include: meal preparation for families at the Ronald McDonald House and Hope Lodge, making Crafts for Kids, and Relay for Life. Social events throughout the year also include our Bowling Extravaganza and Ice Cream Social.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

We provide a great resource for premedical students on campus and benefit the community through our volunteer work.

How this group fits into its categories:

AED fits into the 'honorary and leadership' category because we are a premedical honors society. National Members must meet certain academic criteria. However, you do not need to be a National Member in order to participate in our events or come to our meetings!

How to get involved with this group:
