Categories: Academic and Educational

Provide support to students enrolled in the MGIS program, geography department, and other interested in GIS; a forum for presentations in GIS and careers in GIS; provide or identify opportunities to participate in GIS related conference and field trips; Provide social activites and events for the membership.

Group's principal activities, events, or programs:

We plan and host GIS Day and a GIS Career and Networking Fair. We also host many social activities.

How this group's activities benefit the University community:

We provide a place for students interested in geographic information science (GIS) to meet each other and network with GIS professionals.

How this group fits into its categories:

We are Academic and Cultural in nature as we largely are here for students whose studies are focused in Geographic Information Science.
