An inclusive group, dedicated in teaching authentic capoeira, traditional of Bahia, Brasil.
Group's principal activities, events, or programs:
We practice authentic Bahian Capoeira on Wednesdays and Fridays. Also, we hold summer sessions where we invite mestres from other schools.
How this group's activities benefit the University community:
We add a level of cultural diversity that is found no where else on campus. In class you learn portuguese, get fit, and play music. Each component of Capoeira adds another level to the University community.
How this group fits into its categories:
We fit into the cultural diversity category because Capoeira originates in Brazil, and during class participants are exposed to Brazilian culture as well as Portuguese.
How to get involved with this group:
Any person can come at any time and participate, but to become a member you have to fill out a liability form.
