You are at:

Funding

There are three main ways for student groups to secure funding:

Student Services Fees
Student Services Fees are collected on a semesterly basis. Student groups are allowed to apply for a portion of these funds each year at special hearings. The Student Services Fees page contains more information about the process including timelines and the funding recommendations made by the committee.
Fundraising
Fundraising is one of the most proactive ways for groups to finance their activities, however it is important to be aware of all University policies and procedures in this area. This page gives an overview of the information found in the Official Handbook.
Grants
SAO funds student group activities directly through the use of Activities and Coca-Cola Grants. Additionally, we maintain a list of other grants available to University of Minnesota student groups, individuals, and departments.
