To provide supplemental financial support for activities, programs, publications, or special events that offer opportunities for students to broaden their educational development through co-curricular experiences at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Priority will be given to projects that promote diversity, enhance community and encompass the broader community. Funding priority will be given to activities, programs, conferences, and other events that are focused primarily on the educational development of students. Awards may be given in the form of funds or Coca-Cola® beverages. Beverages awarded through this grant program are not to be resold. Coca-Cola Grants include the Activity, Development, and Academic Initiatives. Individual initiatives are detailed below:
Activity Initiative
- Funding support for Registered Student Groups hosting events open to all students, community initiatives, or academic activities.
Development Initiative
- Funding support for registered student group members where the development opportunity benefits the University community, provides service to the broader community, or enhances the student group's performance and excellence.
- This may include conference travel, conference hosting, workshop attendance, or on-campus development opportunities.
Academic Initiative
- Funding support for University departments for on-campus events that benefit students or individual students for departmentally sponsored opportunities such as travel, workshop attendance, or on-campus development opportunities.
- For an individual student to qualify for these funds, he/she must have a University of Minnesota department endorsing their initiative as a meaningful part of their educational progress. (Grant award funds will be directed to the sponsoring department via EFS transfer)
- Funding cannot be used for regular academic activity related to coursework.
