The following grant opportunities are NOT coordinated by the Student Activities Office. The information published is subject to change. Please contact the individuals listed for further information about specific grants. This list is maintained purely as a service to student groups, and the Student Activities Office does not guarantee its accuracy.
- College of Liberal Arts (CLA) Scholarly Events Fund
- Offers assistance to help defray the costs of scholarly events organized by College faculty or in which CLA faculty play a major role, especially when such events promise to make known to the broader community the strengths of the scholarly activities of the College of Liberal Arts.
- Support is available for any event that involves the public presentation or enhancement of faculty scholarship including conferences, lecture series, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, performances, etc. The maximum amount available is $3,000. Applicants are encouraged to involve faculty from other departments, and from other institutions, in the planning or implementations of their projects. Proposals are reviewed twice a year in November and March. Applications are available exclusively on-line. For more information e-mail Tom Schenk.
- Diversity Education Fund
- Sponsored by the Minnesota Student Association (MSA), the purpose of this grant is to fund programs and events that promote diversity and education through increased awareness of ethnic and cultural hertitage, sexual identity, religious faith, environmental issues, political views, age, disability, gender, community building, and any other topic that will increase awareness and appreciation of other perspectives. - Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA) Small Grants
- Provides small grants (maximum $2000) to college councils and student organizations for one-time funding of programs of special interest to graduate and professional students. - Office for University Women Special Grants Program
- Purpose is to further the broad goal of creating an inclusive and diverse campus community with an enhanced campus climate for women faculty, staff, and students. The minimum grant is $100, and the maximum grant is $1000. Applications are available in 129 Klaeber Court or online at http://www1.umn.edu/women/. - Special Events Fund
- Sponsored by the Minnesota Student Association (MSA), the purpose of this grant is to fund programs and events that discuss, celebrate, or make aware a group, idea, service, or cause at the University of Minnesota. The maximum amount available is $500 per year. Events held or co-sponsored by student fees receiving groups are not eligible for this grant. - St. Paul Board of Colleges Grant Fund
- Purpose is to provide student groups with funding for events which promote or better the St. Paul campus community or the University community as a whole. The maximum amount available is $600 per year. Applications are available in 197 Coffey Hall. For more information call (612)625-6274.
- Summer Cultural Programs
- The purpose of these grants is to support student groups in their sponsorship of cultural events on any of the Twin Cities campuses during the summer term. This may include musical concerts, theatrical performances, art exhibitions, film festivals, and other arts-related programming. Groups that receive funding from student services fees are not eligible to apply. The amount of each grant depends on the group's need and the availability of funds; it is expected to range from $200 to $2000.
