In conjunction with University departments and organizations, the Student Activities Office (SAO) coordinates the following scholarships & awards.

2009 President's Student Leadership and Service Awards

This annual award recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of outstanding student leaders at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. On behalf of the President, it is presented annually to approximately one-half of one percent of the student body for their exceptional leadership and service to the University of Minnesota and the surrounding Community. Students may nominate themselves, or be nominated by University faculty and staff.

2009 University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) Student Leadership Awards

Eight undergraduate students will be selected annually to receive a $500 UMAA Student Leadership Award. Candidates for this award are selected from the recipients of the President's Student Leadership and Service award.

2009 Donald R. Zander Award for Outstanding Student Leadership

Undergraduate students nominated for the President's Student Leadership and Service Award will also be candidates considered for the Donald R. Zander Award for Outstanding Student Leadership. Two $1,000 awards will be presented in honor of former Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Donald R. Zander.

2009 Mary A. McEvoy Award for Public Service and Leadership

Graduate and professional students nominated for the President's Student Leadership and Service Award will be considered as candidates for the Mary A. McEvoy Award for Public Engagement and Leadership. An award of a $1,000 scholarship will be given to one graduate student and one professional student.
