Ticket Sales for Private Events

The Coffman Memorial Union and St. Paul Student Center Information Desks are able to sell tickets for your private events.

Department Procedure

SUA may sell event tickets for non-SUA sponsored events upon approval by Retail Manager.

  1. All tickets must be printed and contain:
    1. Sequential numbering
    2. Event name
    3. Event date and time
    4. Event location
    5. Ticket price (ex. $4 or $4 Student/$8 General)
    6. Name of Event Sponsor
    7. Contact information for Event Sponsor
  2. Tickets not printed in sequential order will be hand numbered by the Retail Manager upon receipt of tickets.
  3. Tickets must be delivered directly to the Retail Manager during regular business hours.

Fees would be charged as follows for each separate ticket sales event:

Registered Student Organizations:
  • $25 set-up fee – extra $10 per each additional ticket venue location
  • 5% of gross sales (excluding set-up fee), total not to exceed $100 per location
University Departments:
  • $35 set-up fee – extra $15 per each additional ticket venue location
  • 5% of gross sales (excluding set-up fee), total not to exceed $200 per location
Outside Organizations:
  • $45 set-up fee – extra $20 per each additional ticket venue location
  • 5% of gross sales (excluding set-up fee)

Timeline

  1. A signed contract must be returned to the Retail Manager a minimum of one week before tickets are scheduled to go on sale.
  2. Tickets may be dropped off at the retail venue up to one week before they are scheduled to go on sale, and must be received no later than the day before they are scheduled to go on sale.
  3. Tickets must be given directly to the Retail Manager during regular business hours.
  4. Event information will be placed on the ticket venue website, but will require a minimum of 5 business days to post, therefore information for the website will need to be received at least 5 business days before tickets are scheduled to go on sale.
  5. The Event Sponsor can expect payment within roughly 3 weeks from the end of ticket sales; assuming all required information that is provided by the Event Sponsor is current and accurate.

Promotional Assistance

  1. Event information will be placed on the ticket venue website and must be received a minimum of 5 business days before the tickets are scheduled to go on sale.
  2. Flyers or posters provided by the Event Sponsor will be hung by the Information Desk staff around the building at approved posting locations.
  3. A flyer or poster provided by the Event Sponsor will be displayed at the ticket venue location in a high visibility area.
  4. The ticket venue name and phone number may be printed on any flyers or posters associated with the event (pending Retail Manager approval).
  5. Use of the Coffman Memorial Union, St. Paul Student Center, Gopher Express West, and the Student Unions & Activities logos are strictly prohibited unless prior written approval has been granted by the Twin Cities Student Unions. Approval is given at SUA’s sole discretion.
